Ernest Edward Howard Sr., 52, formerly of Georgetown, S.C., died Sunday, November 9, 1980, at a local hospital.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Front Street Pentecostal Holiness Church, Georgetown. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, directed by Mayer Funeral Home of Georgetown.
Mr. Howard was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Georgetown County, a son of the late Joseph B. Howard and Mrs. Agnes Victoria C. Howard. He was a retired tug boat captain for Warrior and Gulf Navigation Co. of Mobile. He was a member of Saraland United Methodist Church and a former member of Front Street Pentecostal Holiness Church in Georgetown. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Skipper Howard of Saraland; three sons, Ernest Edward Howard Jr. of Augusta, Ga., Joseph Brown Howard of Charlotte, N.C., and Christopher Warren Howard of Saraland; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia H. McClellan and Mrs. Elaine H. Altman, both of Georgetown; a brother, Olin J. Howard of Loxley; ten grandchildren.
