Mrs. Adams was born Oct. 2, 1927 in Surry County, the daughter of the late Baxter and Minnie Peele Snow.
Mrs. Adams was retired from Smith Drug in Pilot Mountain after 30 and one-half years of service. She was an avid fan of "Days of Our Lives" and a member of Woodville Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Adams of Mount Airy and Jerry and Donna Adams of Mount Airy; three granddaughters, Angela Luther of Thomasville, Stacy Ramsey of Winston-Salem and Rona Hawks of Mount Airy; two great-grandsons, Justin and Jeremy Underwood of Thomasville; a great-granddaughter, Emma Hawks, of Mount Airy; two sisters, Mary Wilson of El Paso, Texas, and Beth Griggs of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister-in-law, June Brannock, of Mount Airy; and a special niece, Cynthia Snow of Camp Pendleton, Calif.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Bart; and a brother, Bill Snow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Moody Funeral Chapel in Mount Airy with the service conducted by Brother Don Collins. Burial will follow in Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Adams family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, April 7, at Moody's in Mount Airy and at other times at the home of Mrs. Adams at 108 Baxter Lane, Mount Airy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Hospice, P.O. Box 1373, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
The family would like to express its thanks to special caregivers, Becky Nunn and Kathy Guarnaccio, the excellent staff of Northern Hospice and Home Health Care, the staff of Surry Community Nursing Center, Dr. Charles Bokesch and his staff and the nurses of the second and fourth floors at Northern Hospital of Surry County for her care in the last months.
