Parents are Orville and Dolly Cecil (Burden) Fisher

George William "Bill" Fisher, 83, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday in Colonial Oaks Healthcare Center.

He was born in St. Marys, Ohio, to Orville D. and Cecil Dolly (Burden) Fisher, and they preceded him in death. He married Gearlene (McNutt) Fisher on Nov. 26, 1977, and she survives in Marion.

He was an auto mechanic for DeVoe Chevrolet-Cadillac, Marion, and retired from McGonigal Buick-Cadillac, Kokomo. After retirement, he was a guard for Burns Security. He was a member of Jonesboro Friends Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching and he also held a private pilots license.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a sister, Louise Schleeter, Ottawa, Ohio; children, Leondis (Susan) Fisher, New Castle and Murry (Cindy) Fisher, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Cindy (Rick) Wright, Upland, Lynn (Marge) Overman, Fort Wayne, Chuck (Debbie) Overman and Danny Overman, both of Indianapolis and Bobby Jean (Michael Lindsay) Overman, Bloomington; three stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Elsworth and Wendell Fisher; and daughter, Twila Marie Taylor.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, with the Rev. Bob Garra officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery.
