Iva Mae "Sadie" Phelps Russell 92 formerly of Holts Summit and Mokane, passed away at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City on December 16, 2012. She was born in Belle, the daughter of the late Charles Houston and Martha Elizabeth (Hicks) helps. On October 18, 1940 she was united in marrage to Forest Ireland Russell, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2008.
Iva will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Goria Jean Taylor and husband Donald, of Mokane, nine grandchildren, Terry Russell, Jerry Russell, Scott Custard, Tina Deville, Shawn Taylor Shannon Meller, Kim Taylor Lesinger ad LaVnda Meller, 15 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, one sister in law, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Iva was preceded in death by one son Forest Dwaine Russell, one daughter, Sharon Mae Russell Meller, one sister and five brothers.
Iva was a homemker and enjoyed traveling, readng, bingo, Tri-Ominos and playing cards. Sheloved spending tme with her family.
Funeral services will be 1p.m. on Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Chaplin Jim Mueller officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service also at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Mokane Cemetery.
