Blanche Mae Allen, age 92 of Charlotte / formerly of Owosso passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Jennings-Lyons Chapel with Pastor Roger Rose officiating. Family will greet friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Blanche Gurden was born on October 21, 1920 in Owosso, to Jacob Gurden and Lula (Davis) Gurden. On March 18, 1939 she married Robert Clare Allen in Angola, IN and he predeceased her in 1982. She was a homemaker, Red Cross Volunteer and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Blanche was survived by children, Robert Clare Jr.(Shirley)Allen of OK, John "Jack" (Wanda) Allen of Charlotte, Calvin "Sonny" (Lee) Allen of Owosso, Janice (Tom) Schultz of AZ, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, sister; Marcella {Peggy) Schaufele of AZ, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandsons Robert C. Allen III and Michael Roy Allen, granddaughter Terra (Schultz) Churchhill, great-grandson Tyler Allen, four brothers; Roy, Jacob Jr., Carl and Richard, three sisters; Thelma, Irene and Doris.
