Mary Lou Mathis Butler, 90, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, in a local hospital.

She was a retired greeter at Sparks Regional Medical Center, worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Alma.

Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Carlos Mathis; a daughter, Martha Jo Baum; a son, Ben David Mathis; a sister, Mamie Morgan; and her second husband, Bill Butler.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith with interment to follow at Woodlawn under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

She is survived by three daughters, Nevada Sue Reynolds of Jackson Hole, Wyo., Jean Parker of Van Buren and Mary Lue Mondier of Fort Smith; a niece, Macie Trice of Roland; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Hickman, Wade Hickman, Scott Montgomery, Rayce Montgomery, Matt Mondier and Ron Smith.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy., Van Buren.
