Obituary. William Carroll. William Carroll, 92, died Thursday in his Indianapolis home. A lifelong Indianapolis area resident, he had been a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service 40 years, retiring in 1960. He was a member of American Legion Post 62 and North Park Masonic Lodge and was a Navy veteran of World War I. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, where his friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Carroll, and a daughter, Virginia Carroll. Published in an unknown newspaper.
