Mrs. Lulu Black Carr, 83, formerly of 8600 Boul Avenue, East St. Louis, died today at 10:10 a.m. at St. Paul's Nursing Home in Belleville. Beloved wife of Samuel A. Carr. She had been ill 10 years and in the nursing home seven years. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Holten Funeral Home with the Rev. George Joseph Wright officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Carr was a member of the Edgemont Bible Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ada) Wescott of Jacksonville,IL., Mrs. Charles (Nellie) Dingerson of Granada Hills, California, and Mrs. Herbert (Lucille) Walker of Caseyville; a son, Ervin L. Carr of East St. Louis; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Interment Valhalla Cemetery, Belleville. Published in the East St. Louis Journal on May 24, 1968.
