In Loving Memory of...
✮✞✮ Leonard Wesley Williams ✮✞✮

Leonard Wesley Williams is the son of Thomas Franklin and Tenney Ivey Williams. He married Caroline Frances Lowe March 1945, in Norwich, England.

After he completed his 4 year enlistment serving during World War II, he wanted to return to Norwich, England to be with his wife but the US Army would not agree to ship him there and returned him back to Forsyth, GA. His siblings report he was only home for a couple of months. During that time, he tried everything he knew to do to get back to Norwich or to have his bride come to the States. His efforts were unsuccessful. As a last resort, he did the only thing he could to get back to England- he reinlisted. He was stationed in Leghorn (Livorno), Italy and had a scheduled furlough coming up where he intended to return to Norwich to be with his wife. Before he could get back to her, he was killed in an accident. The couple had no children.

Such a young life full of love and promise cut short way too soon.
