Married widower Wilhelm Neugebauer 1856 Kruszwica, Poland
Kenosha Evening News Obituary:
Mrs. Mary Neubauer Dead.
Aged Resident of North Side of City Died After Long Illness Thursday
Mrs. Mary Neubauer, aged eighty-seven years, widow of the late William Neubauer, and one of the old residents of the north side of the city, died at her home on Division street late Thursday afternoon after a long illness from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Neubauer was a native of Germany and she had been a resident of Kenosha for more than fifteen years. She is survived by three children, John Neubauer of Kenosha [also buried in this cemetery], Joseph Neubauer of New York [nothing known about this son], and Mrs. Anton[etta] Lewandoski of Kenosha. She is survived by twenty-five grand children and ten great grand children.
The funeral will be held from the Polish church on Saturday morning and interment will be at the family plot at the polish cemetery.
[Strangely, there is no William Neubauer listed as a surviving son, though he was her step-son. Still William Neubauer (1852 - 1944) listed William Neubauer and Mary Schultz Neubauer as his parents on his 1906 marriage document by name; she was the only mother he would have known]
-----------
Per death certificate:
Daughter of: Carl Schultz, mother unknown.
Informant: Mike Schultz [who is her grandson-in-law, husband of her son John Neubauer's daughter Josephine. It stands to reason there could be a familial connection between Mike, the informant, and Carl, the father, both named Schultz.]
Cause of death: Carcinoma of the stomach
