Mrs. Helen Louise White Daniel, age 89, Gardens Lakes, passed away Saturday September 1, 2012, at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Daniel was born April 8, 1923, in Knoxville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Fred White, and Ruth Vonett Wilson Bond. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Thelma Lynn White, by her sons, Harold "Butch" Harbour, Jr. in 1983, and Robert Lee Whitlock, in 2009, Mrs. Daniel was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Harbour, Sr. in 1952, and was widowed by J. S. "Sibo" Daniel, 1972. She attended Rome City School, and was retired from Enloe Drug Store. She joined Fifth Avenue Baptist at the age of 15, and has been a member the for seventy four years. For a number of years Mrs. Daniel taught Sunday School and she was a Cub Scout leader for her son's troop.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Harbour, and her husband, Lewis; daughter, Donna Martin; son, Fred A. Whitlock and his wife Teresa, all of Rome; she has five grandchildren, Hunter Lee Bradley, his wife, Abby; Shanda Whitlock Douglas, her husband, Chris, all of Rome; Jason Daniel Whitlock, his wife, Michelle, Roswell; Haley Whitlock Payne, her husband Carlton, Rome; Colbi Lee Whitlock, Centre, AL; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Rose Douglas, Abigail Grace "Gracie" Douglas, Macyn Elaine Bradley, Carlee Addison Payne.
Graveside and interment services will held Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, with her grandson, Hunter Lee Bradley, and Rev. John Geaney officiating. Mrs. Daniel requested that floral arrangements not be sent to the service, but instead to share the gift of flowers today with someone you love.
