Medora E. Borst, 86, Stanley , died Friday, Oct. 12 at the Mountrail County Bethel Home. Her funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 16 at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both Stanley.
Pallbearers were Alan Labar, Robert Feiring, Carroll Olson, Stanton Aardahl, Vernon Thompson and Arne Leholm.
Special music was provided by Ardis Zunich, soloist and Lois Enander, organist. Officiating was Rev. Mel Wipf.
She was born March 20, 1898 at Oconto, Wi., a daughter of Ed and Emily Johnson. They came to North Dakota in the early1900s. She married Erastus Borst October 21, 1918 at Stanley. They lived on a farm south of White Earth until 1927 when they returned to Wisconsin for one year. They then moved back to White Earth and lived there until moving to the Mountrail Bethel Home, Stanley, in 1983. He died in September 1983. She was a member of First Presbyterian, Stanley, and was a former member, Sunday school teacher, church superintendent and church janitor at First Presbyterian Church, White Earth. She became an ordained elder of First Presbyterian of White Earth on January 21, 1951. She wrote the White Earth news for the Mountrail County Promoter for 45 years, as well as for the Stanley Sun and Tioga Tribune. All news was submitted in long hand. In her early years, she assisted Dr. M. G. Flath on many baby deliveries.
Survivors: sons, Robert, Musella, Ga., Melvin, Grand Forks; daughter, Mrs. Mabel Howell, Stanley; 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers George and William, both Oconto.
Springan Funeral Home of Stanley was in charge of the arrangements.
