Harris Dahl, age 90, of Canby, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, rural Dawson. Visitation will be on Friday, December 14 at Birk Funeral Home in Canby from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Providence Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dawson.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Alzheimer's Association, Sylvan Court Nursing Home, or Providence Valley Lutheran Church.

Harris Arthur Dahl was born on January 3, 1922 to Albert and Minnie (Dahlgren) Dahl in Providence Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Providence Valley Lutheran Church where he remained a lifetime member. He attended rural school District #24 and graduated from Canby High School.

He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Marian Sniegowski. They had two children Barbara and Jon.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and playing softball. For about 20 years, they spent the winter months in Mesa, Arizona at Orangewood Shadows RV Park where he coached the Orangewood Shadows softball team. In 1987, they won the Mesa Senior World Olympics. He also enjoyed visiting family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; children, Barbara Floto and Jon (Carole) Dahl; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie Dahl; two brothers, Winfield and Lloyd Dahl and their spouses; son-in-law, Bill Floto; grandson-in-law, Paul McGee; niece, Darlene Bergeson; and a special fishing buddy, Kermit Lund.
