Widow of Former
Mayor Here, Dies
Mrs. Ada Bell Parker DeGolier
of 129 W. Condon St., widow of
Spencer M. DeGolier, former mayor
of Bradford, died about 9 p.m. yesterday
in Bradford Hospital where
she had been since Oct. 9. She
was 78.
Mrs. DeGolier was admitted to
the hospital after breaking her hip
in a fall in her home. Her death
came last night after she had suffered
a stroke.
A native of Cattaraugus County,
N. Y., she was born March 23. 1876,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thom-
as Parker. Her husband served
three terms as mayor of this city,
and for several years was honorary
president of the National Associa-
tion opposed to Blue Laws.
Mrs. DeGolier was a member of
the Christian Spiritual Alliance
Church, and a trustee of that
church for almost 10 yesrs.
The Rev. and Mrs. S. M. Van-
Duyzcrs, ministers of her church,
will conduct a funeral service at
2 p.m. Saturday in the Hollenbeck
Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in
Oak Hill Cemetery. A memorial
service will be held in the church
at 8 p.m. Sunday.
