He worked in the hop fields in Sacramento County and graduated from Sacramento High School. Married to Emily Jane Pendleton, a local Sacramento girl. They had four children ~ Lora, Ronald Jr, Jacqueline and Michael. Ronald Jr was a victim of SIDS and Jacqueline was stillborn.
Ronnie joined the Sacramento County Sheriff's Dept and retired as a highly decorated lieutenant. In 1970 Ronnie and Janie bought a small ranch in Franklin, CA. A small farming and dairy community south of Sacramento, it was close to the Sacramento Branch Jail where Ronnie worked until he retired. They raised cattle, horses and a huge garden.
