Born in Craighead County, he was a lifelong resident of the Jonesboro area. He was a retired repair technician for Sears and had previously worked for Arkla Gas Co.
A 1947 graduate of Dixie High School, he was a Navy veteran and a Jonesboro Police Department reserve officer in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include five brothers, Ralph BOLING, Fred BOLING, Clint BOLING and Larry BOLING, all of Jonesboro, and Ken BOLING of Paragould; two sisters, Moneice Michalek of Belleville, Mich., and Flossie Baggett of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Jewell BOLING and Alice BOLING; a son, Jimmy BOLING; his parents, Elmer and Lila Ellington BOLING; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, with Robbie McMasters officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
