"Bennie" was born November 16, 1924 in the Lively Community located in Baylor County, Texas to the late Frank T. and Lillie (Shear) Hons. He and Anita Brom were married on June 30, 1947. They had been married for sixty-five years. "Bennie" owned and operated several businesses in Megargel and was in farming. He received his fifty-year pin from the Knights of Columbus of the Catholic Church and served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Olney. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Frank Hons, Ed Hons, and Henry Hons; and two sisters: Mary Storek, and Rosalie Renkie.
"Bennie" is survived by his wife, Anita Brom Hons of Olney, Texas; his son Mark Hons and wife Tamara also of Olney; his sister, Dorothy Laney and husband Lloyd of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandchildren: Matthew Hons and wife Annie of Crowley, Texas; Keenan Hons of Granbury, Texas, and Kelsey Hons of Olney, Texas; also one great-grandchild, Eva Hons.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
