The entire community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Gottlieb Schwartz which occurred at her home in Danville township Saturday afternoon, March 10, at one o'clock after an illness of four days, following a stroke on March 7. Mrs. Schwartz had reached the age of 54 years, 5 months and 22 days at the time of death. She was a good wife and mother and was liked by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her, a grief stricken husband and eight children. Two sons and one daughter are married. They are John and Arthur, living on farms near home; Mrs. August Grosekreutz living near Matawan, and Alma, Fred, Louie, Ada and Ernest at home. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock at the house and two o'clock at the St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. J. H. Schnitker officiating. The pallbearers were Herman Miller, Wm. Pieper, Otto Beyer, Robt. Degner, William Pick and Albert Bohm.
