Alfred C Jenkins, 93, died yesterday at his home, Willow Tree road, Milton. He had been ill over a long period.
Born in Gardiner, Mr. Jenkins was the son of the late Jacob H. and Cynthia Whitney Jenkins. He attended schools in Gardiner and Milton and had made his home in Milton the last 76 years. He died in house which he had built some years ago. Mr. Jenkins was a retired fruit grower. His wife, Mrs. Mary Sears Jenkins whom he married Oct 25, 1908, died in 1940.
A MEMBER OF THE Milton Presbyterian church, Mr. Jenkins had served as an elder of the church for many years. He also was an honorary member of the Milton Grange.
Surviving are a son, Thomas A Jenkins with whom he resided, and a niece, Mrs. Mae Perkins, Ellenville.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Nutton Funeral home, Clintondale, at 2 o'clock, tomorrow. The Rev. Rupert H Stanley, pastor of the Marlboro Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be in the New Paltz cemetery. Friends my call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight. Bearers will be Glenn C. Clarke, Leonard M. Clarke, James D Kent, Oliver P. Kent Jr., Russell W. Martin and Carl E Rhodes Jr.
