Bill was born on October 2, 1923 in Vinita, Oklahoma to the late William and Anna Comfort. He grew up in Miami and Bartlesville then moved to Arkansas City, where he graduated from Chilocco Indian School, north of New Kirk, OK, in 1941. After graduation, Bill joined the U.S. Air Force on November 30, 1942 to serve his country, where he served in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam Era. Bill retired from the U.S. Air Force on October 1, 1972. Bill married Ruth Dixon, they were married for thirty years. After her death, he moved to Cushing where he met and married Betty Walker. They enjoyed eight years together before her death in 2000. He enjoyed hunting animals, dancing and listening to music. He was very active in the Senior Citizens. Bill enjoyed spending time with his companion Sue Gibson for the past eleven years. They traveled on numerous bus trips together. Bill loved visiting with others. He liked to be on the go.
Survivors include his companion Sue Gibson of Cushing, step-son Rocki Walker and wife Linda of Tulsa, grandchildren Eric Walker and Emily Walker.
He was preceded in death by his wives Ruth Comfort and Betty Comfort.
