He married Judith Kay Presler on October 5, 1957 in Grant and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2012.
He was a Machine Repairman for Muskegon Piston Ring until 1984 retiring after 30 plus years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from April 15, 1954 to April 13, 1956 being discharged as SP 3 (T) and was a Life member of the VFW Post #4249 of Newaygo.
He is survived by his children Scott & Lauri Higgins, Sid & Vicki Higgins, Sheri Higgins, Sheril & Gary Ream, his grandchildren Scotty & Myriah, Eric, Jamie & Luke, Ian, Shastyn & Ben, Elizabeth, Dutch, Jason, his great grandchildren Eryn and Deven, his brothers Buster "Lee" Higgins, Walter & Paula Higgins and his sister June Campbell.
Memorial services for Archie and Judy was held in the Spring of 2013. There was no visitation at this time.
