Obituary

Anderson, Karl Franklin II ("Kif") of Bellflower, California, passed away on October 25, 2012 in Downey, California. Kif was born on April 16, 1961 in Manhattan, Kansas to Karl and Sharyl Anderson. They moved to the Antelope Valley in 1964. An Eagle Scout, Kif graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1979. He married Patricia Lechuga in 1995. He worked for Boeing Space and Defense for 30 years.

Kif headlined his first magic show at age 11. From the early days of learning from library books to becoming a devouring student and teacher of the art, Kif was a creative master-mind of illusion. But it was more than that, Kif was a master storyteller, presenter, speaker and teacher. He had a gift of mentoring and it showed as he taught so many how to better their presentations. Kif performed and taught at the Magic Castle in Hollywood California. After becoming a born again Christian, he devoted his talents to sharing the Gospel and teaching others to do the same. He performed as "Wilde" of the duo "Oz & Wilde: FX4 Christ" presenting the Gospel through comedy, illusion and storytelling.

For two years he produced and hosted the Christian television series Kids of The Kingdom for cable television. He helped run the Pass-It On training conference in Orange County, California. Kif served as president of the Los Angeles Fellowship of Christian Magicians; vice president of Orange County Gospel Arts Studio; recording secretary of the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians (FCM). Kif created and produced the Christian Magician Pod Cast for the FCM and was the moderator for the Magic Café FCM and Good News sections on the Internet. He loved his Toastmasters Magic group he met with monthly and always looked forward to the week of fellowship and training at the annual FCM International convention.

He was also an active member of Calvary Chapel in Downey, California. He was a children's ministry volunteer, Pioneer Club teacher and active with the video ministry.

Always thankful for his many blessings, Kif felt his most important ministry was his family. He was a loving husband, a proud father of two beautiful daughters, a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a special uncle to his niece and nephew.

He is survived by his parents; Patricia, his wife of 17 years; his daughter Lauren Taylor, 26 (Jonathan); his daughter, Faith Renee, 14; and his sister Michelle Goodman (David) of Tampa; his nephew Michael, 18; his niece Caroline, 12; his cousin Tammy Lee (Don) and her children Tyler and Tatiana. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, with graveside service at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary. A celebration of Life will be at Calvary Chapel Downey at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 5. In lieu of flowers, donations sent to Calvary Chapel Downey, 12808 Woodruff Avenue, Downey, CA 90242 would be appreciated - please indicate Children's Ministries/Kif Anderson in the memo field.

Kif will always be remembered as a family man, magician, entertainer, mentor, teacher, encourager and evangelist who used his gifts and humor to teach and to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Kif will be greatly missed by the countless people whose lives were touched by Kif in his service to his Lord and Savior.
