Reatha Mae (Bals) Lewis, 81, of Crete passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Lincoln.
She was born on February 5, 1931 in Loup City.
Reatha married Clarence J. Lewis on January 21, 1949 in Loup City. They lived in Hastings, Doniphan, Hampton, Weston, Emerald, and Pickrell where Reatha was a secretary for grain elevators. In 1992 she and Clarence retired at their cabin at the Blue River Lodge.
To this marriage were born four children who Reatha loved dearly. Reatha enjoyed her family and was proud of each and every one of them.
She loved to play the penny or nickel machines at the casinos with her dear friend, Angie. She loved to find deals on garage sales and square dance. She loved to travel, especially anywhere Joseph Hall was performing. With love and pride she cross-stitched beautiful pictures for each one of her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Theodore and Anna Bals; four brothers, Donald, Sylvester, Harold, and Loren; one sister, Mickey; grandchildren, Heath and Jessica.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Connie, Mike and Lynette, and Bob and Ruth; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Jolita Bals, Ravenna; Mitch and Pat Michielutti, Lincoln; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, dear friends.
Services were held on Friday, October 19 at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete with Pastor Mike Ostrom officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
