Jean Ratliff Davis, 88, of Blacksburg, died, Saturday, December 29, 2007, after a short stay at Heritage Hall. She was born on September 25, 1919, in Birmingham, Ala., to the late Roland W. and Esther Crowley Ratliff. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold N. Ratliff. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren. Raised by her grandparents, Alva and P.C. Crowley, in Smithville, Tenn., she moved to Arlington, Va. and worked as an illustrator for the United States Navy Department for over 30 years. After retirement in 1974, she moved to Blacksburg and continued to be active in the Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at Montgomery Regional Hospital and NRV Hospice, as well as other community organizations. In recent years she resided at Warm Hearth Village. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2008, in The Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, Corner of Church and Eakin Streets, Alex Evans, Pastor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Warm Hearth Foundation, 2607 Warm Hearth Dr., Ste. 100, Blacksburg, Va. 24060 or The Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
