NEWTON - Blonnie Mae Schronce Duckworth, 73, of Cherry Ridge Drive , went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2009, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton . Born April 29, 1936, in Catawba County , she was the daughter of the late Gaston R. Schronce and Minnie Carter Schronce. Blonnie worked for various companies in the Catawba Valley ; her final position was resident attendant at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn. Blonnie received her GED from Catawba Valley Community College in 2000, after years of being a wife and mother to her four boys. Blonnie was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church in Maiden. Blonnie will be remembered by her four sons, Randy Hilderbran of Newton, Tony Hilderbran of Claremont, Todd and Debra Hilderbran of Maiden and Darrin and Kechia Duckworth of Conover; grandchildren, Jamie Hilderbran of Greensboro, Brooke Bartels, Kassy Hilderbran and Brittany Schmidt, all of Minnesota, Tyler Hilderbran of Maiden and Austin Duckworth of Conover; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Carter. Other surviving family members include three brothers, James Robert Schronce of Washington state and David Schronce and Eddie Schronce, both of Lincolnton, and two sisters, Marian Guinn and Lois Hendricks, both of Lincolnton. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Catawba Valley Baptist Church in Maiden, with the Rev. Ernest Richards officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
