Jane Hockett was born the 1st of 11mo 1792 in Guilford County, NC, a daughter of Joseph & Ann (Thornburg) Hockett. Her family relocated to Ohio about 1811. On the 23rd of 10m 1816 at Clear Creek Friends Meeting in Highland Co., OH, she married Libni Hunt. They and their children were granted a certificate to transfer to Walnut Ridge Friend Meeting, Rush County, IN, in 1837. Jane died 21st of 10mo 1873. She was the mother of eleven children: Alfred, Eber, Ann, Miriam, John, Margaret, Priscilla, Isaac, Rebecca, Joseph R, and Jane L.

HUNT--In Rush Co, Ind., on the 21st of Tenth mo. 1873, Jane Hunt, wife of Libni Hunt, in her 82d year, an esteemed member of Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting. She was of a quiet, retiring disposition, but her heart went forth in love to all the human family. She passed quietly away, leaving the assurance that her end was peace."
