Georgia P. Maxwell, 76 of Greenfield passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Kindred Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Greenfield. Georgia was a lifelong Hancock County resident born March 15, 1936 to the late Jesse and Dora (Zapf) Barnard. She was a graduate of New Palestine High School and a devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Maxwell was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Greenfield Moose Lodge. She attended Brandywine Community Church, Greenfield and New Life Christian Fellowship. She also enjoyed the Colts and Pacers as well as Nascar. Georgia was the former owner of the Whitehouse Restaurant and worked for CVS warehouse.
Georgia is survived by son, Mark (Jenny) Maxwell of Greenfield; daughters, Candice (Michael) Sproul and Cheryl (Ronnie) Skaggs both of Greenfield; brothers, Norman Barnard of Wilkinson and Kenneth Barnard of Greenwood, sister, Ruth LaMaster of Ohio; daughter-in-law Gail Coffey of MO., ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Richard Coffey; brothers, Ora, Edgar and Everett Barnard, sister, Maxine Downe and one grandchild.
Services for Mrs. Maxwell will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield with burial to follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Monday, December 10 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stillinger Family Funeral Home on behalf of the family to defray funeral costs.
