Lena Faye Maples, 90, passed away November 30, 2012, in Cox Hospital after a short illness. She had been afflicted with Alzheimer's for several years.

Lena Faye Webster was born January 28, 1922, in Sleeper, MO. She was united in marriage with Roy Franklin Maples in Yuma, AZ, on April 14, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1994, after nearly 55 years of marriage.

She was saved and baptized as a child and was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all her life. She had been a member of Wilson Creek Baptist Church since moving to Battlefield in the early 80's.

Mrs. Maples was the daughter of Ralph Webster and Beaulah (Calcote) Webster and outlived two brothers: Claudean Webster and Eudean Webster. She is survived by her daughter, Jimmy Lou Bradley; her son, Dennis Maples and wife Karol; her son, Roy Maples and wife Deniese; and her grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Terri Bradley, Darin and Sandi Bradley, Mike and Jean Bradley, Tim and Kathy Garton, DW and Ashley Maples, Barbara Ozge, and Oscar and Lisa Trinidad. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday December 7, 2012 between 7 - 8 p.m. in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, at 10 a.m. also in the funeral home. Pastor Randall Moody will officiate. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Lena was a devout Christian and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As a young mother, she was left at home to pray for her husband and to care for their two young children while he served in World War II. After the war they were blessed with the birth of their third child. In their early marriage Lena and Frank worked as migrant farm workers in Idaho and California. Later, she was very proud of her career as a successful real estate broker in California and Missouri. During retirement, Frank and Lena enjoyed traveling together in their travel trailer until their health no longer allowed.

As a mother she always made her children feel special and taught them to believe they could do anything they set their minds to. As a grandmother she was generous with her time and would spend hours playing games, taking her grandchildren to play miniature golf, and she would let them play "office" when they got to go to work with Grannie. She loved to babysit the great-grandkids providing numerous cherished memories for them all. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for her family every day.

The last thing Lena said was "take me home". She is finally home and reunited with her husband Frank. She is at peace, resting in the arms of her comforter and Savior Jesus Christ.
