HOGUE, RAY, Born on February 29, 1908 in Iola, Texas to Will and Mattie Hogue, passed away on September 24, 2005. He is survived by his wife Margaret Goodman Hogue of Dallas, TX; sister Ruby Buckner and husband Chester of Hamilton, OH; and many nieces and nephews. He was a longtime member of Murphy Rd. Baptist Church in Murphy, TX. Ray served as the music director, minister of education, associate pastor, and scoutmaster for the First Baptist Church in Garland and later as music director for The First Baptist Church of Carrolton, TX. He was active with the retired seniors of Garland for 30 years, Ray was retired from the GISD in 1975. He was a former president of the Dallas Gem and Mineral Society. Ray served as a Gunnery Officer in the Navy during World War II and retired as a Lieutenant. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Services will be held Tuesday September 27, 2005 at 9:00a.m., at the Murphy Rd. Baptist Church in Murphy, TX. Interment will follow at 2:00p.m. in the Concord Cemetery in Iola, TX.
