EDEN--E.C. Montgomery, 81, died Sunday morning at the Twin Falls Clinic Hospital of a short illness.
He was born June 19, 1884, at Seybert, Mo., and was graduated from Baker University in 1910. He married Stella Wangerien Sept. 30, 1914, at Clifton, Kan. She died March 1, 1953.
He was a member of the Hazelton Presbyterian Church and was an Elder in the church. He also was a member of Eden Lodge No. 74, AF and AM, and was past master in 1921. He was a former member and past president of Hazelton Lions Club and a member of Twin Falls Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Eden School Board, first state representative of Jerome County, and also was Republican County chairman.
Surviving are one son, Clyde A. Montgomery, Eden; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Michelbacher, Algonac, Mich., and Mrs. Raymond (Jane) Counsell, San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Lester Montgomery, El Monte, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hayward, Dadeville, Mo.; Mrs. Ralph Stapp, Fort Scott, Kan., and Mrs. Cordis Tindill, Baldwin Park, Calif., and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Rex Blodgett, on May 24.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Twin Falls, by Rev. Raymond L. Wilson, Final rites will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Hazelton-Eden Presbyterian Church or the Idaho Youth Ranch, and can be left at the White Mortuary or at the church.
