Mrs. Frances Helen Benfield, 66, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC.
Born January 11, 1945 in Blenheim, SC, she was a daughter of the late Cletus and Zula Strickland Freeman. She was married to the late Charles Benfield. She worked at Old Timey Hotdogs for over 28 years. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Frances loved her Lord and loved to read her Bible. She loved her church and church family. She enjoyed learning to crochet before her health got too bad. She was a wonderful, loving mother and sister and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Wells of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Isa Lee White (Jimmy) of Bennettsville; Gladys Gray (Louie) of Buchanan, Michigan; and Shirley Caulder (Rev. George) of Bennettsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband ,a brother, Charles Jennings Freeman and a sister, Nora Freeman Grant.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow in Bristow Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home.
