Pvt. Leslie M. Gowan, Powell, Texas, Headquarters Company, 142nd infantry, 36th Division, went overseas in July 1918. Participated in Meuse-Argonne and Champagne. Wounded by shrapnel on October 8, 1918. Received discharge soon after returning to the United States in May, 1919.
