Charlie was born in Tampa, Fla., and graduated from MIT, where he was a member of the faculty for 20 years.
In 1949, in Rutland Vt., he married Roberta Pye, who survives.
In 1959, he founded C.L.M. Systems Inc., in Tampa, Fla.
The Millers had resided in Lexington and Boxborough, Mass. In 1981, they came to Springfield, N.Y., where they established Millpride Farm.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta; three sons and daughters-in-law, C. Henry and Gretchen Miller of Springfield, N.Y., Stephen and Claudia Miller of Tampa, Fla., and Jonathan and Deborah Miller of Springfield Center, N.Y.
He was predeceased by a son, Matt.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 3, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Tampa, Fla.
Charlie was an avid gardener.
