Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 pm from Bazette Baptist Church for A. J. Deskin, aged 73 who died Saturday Morning, December 2, 1950.

The rites were conducted by Rev R. J. Fletcher of Corsicana and Rev Bernard McCord of Fort Worth.

Deskin was a native of Rusk County, but had resided in the Bazette community for 65 years. He had been engaged in oil leases and farming.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Mae (Winters) Deskin of Bazette; one son, John Deskin of Dallas; 6 daughters, Mrs. Guy (Eunice) Lancaster, Kerens; Mrs. M. H. (Eva) Faughn, Beaumont; Mrs. Jack (Lucille) Albritton, Kerens; Miss Amy Deskin, Kerens; Mrs. W. B. (Hazel) Stringer, Houston, and Mrs. W. H. (Ruby) Fair, Hobbs, NM; 2 sisters, Mrs. W. J. (Bedia) Tramel, Kerens and Mrs. Mitch (Odie) Barnett, Dallas; a brother, W. R. (Red) Deskin of Corsicana; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Grandsons were pallbearers.

Interment was made in the Prairie Point Cemetery at Bazette.

A. J. was born August 23, 1877, in Rusk Co. TX. to John Greenberry and Sarah Deborah Carpenter Deskin. He married Lena Mae Winters December 24, 1896 in Navarro Co.
