Martha Cornelia Galloway

Wife of S. C. Galloway, was born Feb. 6, 1867, in Calloway county, Ky.  Her parents in old age were known as Uncle Jeff and Aunt Francis Adams.

She was married to S. C. Galloway Jan. 15, 1887, and to this happy union were born 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls, all of whom survive her.  She was a kind, loving and devoted wife and mother.  Although she never attached herself to any church, she possessed all the traits outside of that duty, of a true Christian.  None knew her but to love her as a good and kind neighbor.

She bore her afflictions with Christian fortitude, but despite all that loving hands could do, March 5, 1906 our Heavenly Father called her to a home of perfect peace and happiness.

It is so hard for us to be reconciled to such dispensations - so touching to look into the sweet innocent faces of the dear little children, and think they have no mothers care. But Jesus will fill all vacancies.  He will never leave us in distress.

May He be a solid comfort to this bereaved family and teach them that their loss is an eternal gain to the departed mother and wife.

The unworthy writer tried to preach the funeral) of Sister Galloway (as we all called her) to a large congregation on Sunday, March 11, 1906.
