Danny Rhett Adcox
May 6, 1987 ~ December 4, 2012

Danny Rhett Adcox died suddenly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Payson, Gila County, Arizona from injuries he sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 25 years old.

Rhett was born on May 6, 1987 in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona to his parents, Danny Keith and Beverly G. (Sherman) Adcox.

When he was only 13 years old, Rhett became an Eagle Scout and, for the rest of his life, he spent much of his time in the service of others. He truly knew that when he was in the service of his fellow man he was only in the service of his God. When he was in high school Rhett found he could actually carry a tune and began singing with the Madrigals at Snowflake High School. He graduated with the 2005 Graduating Class from Snowflake High School.

Immediately following his graduation, he began a successful career as a plumber and quickly became a friendly and familiar face to many in the communities of the White Mountains. He worked for various plumbers over the years and especially enjoyed working for for ABS Plumbing in Lakeside, Arizona. Just 2 weeks ago, Rhett began a new job for Lexus Plumbing in Mesa and was looking forward to a long and successful working relationship with them.

Rhett possessed many talents and was incredibly artistic. He especially loved to draw and many of his drawings are now considered to be priceless treasures to his family and friends. Along with his singing, Rhett also enjoyed listening to good music and playing his drums.

He was quite good at them, too. He was a great fan of the out-of-doors. He loved to go hunting with his dad, brothers and friends over the years and also appreciated the quiet beauty of a good fishing hole. Rhett was also an accomplished skate boarder and was an expert snow boarder on the slopes. He loved living in the White Mountains and because he loved his dogs so much, he frequently could be found taking them for long walks.

Rhett was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his ward family in Taylor will always remember the strong and fervent testimony he bore of the Savior, Jesus Christ, just this past Sunday. He will be missed by his many friends but, none will miss him more than his own dear family.

Rhett is survived by his parents, Dan & Bev Adcox of Taylor, Arizona; son, River Leif Peterson of Tucson, Arizona; maternal grandparents: Clyde & McCray Sherman of Taylor, Arizona; paternal grandparents: Jim & Corinne Adcox of Carefree, Arizona; 2 brothers: Brandon & Jessica Adcox of Layton, Utah, Joshua & Jamie Adcox of Agoura Hills, California; his sister, Britt Adcox of Taylor, Arizona; 5 nieces and nephews: Boston, Reese, Zoie, Zack, Luke as well as Lucy (who is on the way).

The visitation for Rhett will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th South in Snowflake, Arizona. The funeral service will begin 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Love Lake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 700 E. Love Lake Road in Taylor, Arizona where additional visitation will begin 1 hour prior.

The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona.

Rhett's family is so appreciate for the abundant outpouring of love they have received during this difficult time and are especially grateful for all of the prayers offered up on their behalf.
