Beverly Ah Fee (Akuna) Brown was born on May 20, 1928 in Waihee, Maui, the third child and first daughter of Edward Kanakahelela Akuna and Helen Kalawaia Wela. She attended and graduated from Waihee School in 1942 and Baldwin High School in 1946. She met and later married Harry Haleakala Brown on March 19, 1955 and they were sealed in the Laie, Hawaii Temple on April 11, 1958.

Mom has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since birth and was baptized in 1936 and served a church mission to Japan. She attended the Waihee, Waiehu, Kahului, and Kahuwai II Branches and later the Kahului II and Waiehu Wards. She served in many branch/ward and district positions.

Mom was predeceased by her husband (2007) and her parents, two older brothers, Lionel Keala (Uncle Sonny) and Kenneth Naauao and younger brother Merle Kahikina (Uncle Buddy) who died earlier this year (2012) and Danton Kaholokula who died as a baby; four younger sisters, Rose and Joyce Ann Puakailima (who died as babies), Alaire Leinaala (Aunty Polly) and Wanda Leialoha. Also, she was predeceased by one grandson who was stillborn and one nephew, Lansing, son of her eldest brother.

She was also loving known by her nieces and nephews as Aunty Bede.
