BATON ROUGE - Jimmy Allen Stelly, "Bogay", 68, a native of Opeloussas, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, moved on from his temporary home to be reunited with his loved ones in heaven on December 3, 2012.

He served six years in the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the Army. He was medically discharged, receiving two purple hearts. He was retired from Opelousas Power Plant as an Operator Technician.

Survived by his wife just shy of 47 years, Sylvia McClain Stelly; children, Kenneth M. Stelly, Stacy S. Mason and husband, Terry Mason; grandchildren, Brook, Brittany, and Bryce Mason, Miranda Case Stelly; 3 nieces, 3 nephews; and many friends whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elus Stelly; mother, Eugenia Q. Stelly; brother, Earl Stelly; and numerous family members.

Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and resume Saturday, December 8, from 9 a.m. until service 11 a. m. with cremation to follow.

He was always and forever will be a hero to his children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed.
