EDEN Kenneth Gene Barr, 82, of Millersview, loving husband and father passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2012. There will only be a graveside service. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Millersview Cemetery. He was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Millersview, Texas. He spent 10 years in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a postman in San Angelo for 23 years and lifetime as a sheep rancher and wheat farmer. Kenneth was a member of the Church of Christ, he served on the board of the Millersview-Doole Water Supply Cooperation, as a director of the Soil & Water Conservation District, served on the Concho County Hospital Board, Appraisal Review Board, Millersview Community Center, Millersview Memorial Senior Center, Eden Independent School District Review Board and as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife of 53 years that he deeply loved, Cleo Clarene Barr; a son, Paul Barr of Austin; a daughter, Teresa and her husband, Jaime Gonzalez, of Midland; and two grandsons, Kenneth Garza, along with his Lindsey, and John Gonzalez. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Era Babe Lollar; brother-in-law Jimmy Joe Parker; sisters-in-law Alvis along with her husband, Rudy Ahrens, and Thelma, along with her husband, Orval Evans; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Bonnie Barr; sister Betty Jo Parker; and brothers Gerald D. Barr and Burton B. Barr. Kenneth will be greatly missed by many, many friends and loved ones.
