CHARLES HAFF

Charles Haff, of this village, passed away last Thursday, January 28th, after an illness of nine weeks.

"Charlie", as he was known to all his friends, has been in poor health for two years, but up until nine weeks ago, was always on the job. He has been employed on the Stewart Moore estate for over thirty years. He will be very much missed in this community, for he was a great fellow, always joking and with a good word for everybody.

Funeral services, with a High Requiem Mass by Rev Father John Brennan, were held at the Sacred Heart Church on Monday at 9:30 followed by interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Those who will remain to mourn his loss are his wife, Agnes (Delaney) Haff; one daughter, Mrs Frank Coyne of Peconic; one son, Edward of White Plains; a grand daughter, Barbara Coyne of Peconic; one sister, Miss Anna Haff of Brooklyn; and one brother, Thomas Haff of Richmond Hill. Our dearest sympathy is extended to the bereaved.

Obit was published in The Watchman on Feb 4, 1937 p3.
