Edward L. Baker, 34, of 315 Laurel St., Warren, formerly of Oil City, drowned in a fishing mishap in the Allegheny River May 9. He was born April 14, 1926, in Sunville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence B. Baker.
He attended Franklin public schools, was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater, had worked for Asplundh Tree Company of Warren, and was currently unemployed.
He is survived by five children, Edward Lee Jr., William J., Sherry Lynn, Raymond E., and Vicki Ann; three sisters, Mrs. George R. Carey, Mrs. Gus S. Benson, and Mrs. William H. Porter, all of Oil City; and an aunt, Mrs. Hiram M. Kinsley of Franklin.
A full military funeral was held Monday in Oil City. Burial was in the Oil City area.
