Jimmy Dale Akehurst, Sr. 65 years, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Jimmy was born on May 9, 1947 in Neosho, Missouri to the late, Wallace and Lena (Lewis) Akehurst. He married Patricia Coble on November 23, 1966 at Neosho, Missouri. Jimmy worked for MFA as a truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed working on his tractor, feeding wild birds, working puzzles and watching wrestling. He also loved spending time with his four beloved dogs, Sassy, Maggie, Peppy and Daisy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy "Scoot" Akehurst, two brothers, Sherman Akehurst and Jerry Akehurst.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia Akehurst of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Neale and husband, Jimmy of Anderson, Missouri; two brothers, George Akehurst of Denver, Colorado and Ronnie Akehurst of Brighton, Colorado; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Jimmy.
Graveside funeral services for Jimmy Akehurst will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Union Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Reverend Faron Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home, the family will receive friends at this time.
