Marion Will Dieleman, the son of William (Will) and Carrie Van Baale Dieleman, was born north of Pella on August 2, 1918. He passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa, Iowa, at the age of ninety-four.

Marion attended a rural school north of Pella and graduated from the eighth grade at Webster School in Pella. He then worked for farmers in the area until he was married. On February 1, 1940, he was united in marriage with Treva Buitenwerf in Sully, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Darrell Lee and Sherry Kay.

Marion and Treva began farming north of Sully and in 1943 moved to a farm southwest of New Sharon where they remained for the next fifty-three years. In 1998 they retired and moved to Pella and later moved to Fair Haven East.

Farming meant a lot to Marion and he always wanted to keep his farm in good condition. When riding a tractor in the field he said he felt close to the Lord. He also loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed having the grandchildren join him.

Those who will cherish his memory are: his wife, Treva; his daughter, Sherry Dieleman of Pella and her children: Doug Netten and his fiancé Kim Brazil, his daughter, Tara, and her son, Payton Beason, Scott and Jodee Netten and their children: Blake, Aubrey, and Kaeman, Kelly and Julie LaFollette and their children: Austin, Caleb, and Sage; the late Darrell and daughter-in-law Beth Dieleman of Pella and his children: Kim and Randy Smith and their children: Megan and Zachary, Michael and Ann Dieleman and their children Matthew and Gracie, Kristy and Dave Trzeciak and their children Jack and Connor; and a sister-in-law Kee Buitenwerf of Pella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Carrie Dieleman De Penning; his son Darrell Dieleman on April 9, 2008; his brother and wife, Elmer and Emma Dieleman; brother-in-law, Howard Buitenwerf; sister-in-law Grace Bandstra and her husband, Ray; step-brothers, Paul and Wilbur De Penning; and a step-sister, Tracie Rozendaal.

Marion was always concerned for his grandchildren and kept them in his prayers. The family has many memories of his singing and humming while working.
