Revolutionary War Soldier.

Served under Daniel Boone and was captured on Feb 8, 1778; along with Boone and 27 others, by the British and Indians, Remained in captivity until the Treaty of Peace in 1783.

Buried in Centerville Precinct, near the Jacksonville Cemetery off Hawkins and Cummins Rd, 1 mile west of its intersection with Russell Cave Rd, Ky 353. The town (Jacksonville) and cemetery were named in his honor. The stone was marked by Jemina Johnson Chapter, DAR.
