Estle A. Ayers, 79, of Limestone died Tuesday morning at the
John M. Reed Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arvilla Ramsey Ayers, also of the John M. Reed home; one daughter and son-in-law, Ola Mae and Guy Metcalf; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Albert and Lucille Ayers and Bobby Joe Ayers, all of Limestone; two granddaughters, Robin Malone and Beth Bradwell of Elizabethton; four grandsons and two granddaughters-in-Iaw, Rickey A. and Judy Metcalf of Nashville, William and Penny Ayers of Elizabethton, Russell L. Metcalf of Chesterfield, Va., and Derek Metcalf; three great- grandsons; one sister, Mrs. Tishea Cutshaw; one aunt, Mrs. HassieOttinger and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the son of the late Burton and Polly Hensley Ayers.
He was also preceded in death by one sister and nine brothers.

Funeral services will beconducted 2 p.m. Friday at
Doughty-Stevens Chapel with interment in Oak Grove
Cemetery at Tusculum. The Rev. Paul Broyles will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons Rickey Metcalf,
Russell Metcalf, Derek Metcalf and Bill Ayers; nephews, Floyd ' and Clarence Ayers, Billy and
Robert Cutshaw and Joel Bradwell; and Therin (Geter) Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers Will be Dr. Curtis Drumright; his nephews and cousins; E.O. Shanks, Men of Pleasant Grove
Church and Charles W. Kyker. Memorials may be made to
Oak Grove Cemetery Fund or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
at Washington College Station.

The family will receive friends at the homes of Albert Ayers in Limestone and bla Mae Metcalf at 925 Hopeville Ave., at 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. and at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6-9.
