She was the daughter of the late William Virge and Vicy Mae Clark Nichols. She was a lifelong resident of Rabun County and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: a brother, Aubra Nichols; and two sisters, Irene and Pauline, who died in infancy.
Survivors include: a sister, Virginia Carpenter; a niece, Candace Carpenter; a nephew, Clarence Carpenter Jr.; and three sisters, Opal Littleton of Toccoa; Clara Trusty of Longview, Wash., and Virgie Cannon of Tyler, Texas.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Houston officiating. Burial followed at Persimmon Community Cemetery.
