Joseph Raymond "Joe" Hapgood, age 55, died June 21, 1999, at an Oklahoma City hospital after a short illness. He was born March 19, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to George and Irene (Danvers) Hapgood.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Frankford High School. He also attended Rutgers University. He had worked several years for Core Marketing and had recently become regional sales manager for inside sales at Macklanburg-Duncan. He was very active in the Mustang soccer program, was an avid Philadelphia fan (all sports), and was a Catholic. Loved by all, Joe was a wonderful husband and loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Sherri of the home; daughter Denise Taylor and husband Chris of Oklahoma City; sons Joseph Hapgood of Philadelphia, Scott Rapoport of Plantation FL, and Andy Rapoport and wife Shelly of Yukon OK; grandchildren Alyssa and Samuel; very special nephew Corey Taylor and his fiancée of Tulsa OK; brother George Hapgood of Philadelphia; and sisters Alice Borys, Eleanor Cordenner, and Florence Hapgood, all of Philadelphia.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anna May, and his daughter JoAnn.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. on June 25, 1999, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1100 N. Sara Road in Mustang, with interment following at Mustang Cemetery, under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.
