Jack was borned and raised in New York City. He was the son of the late Felix J. Glitzner and Grace Gillick Glitzner. He also was predeceased by a brother, Joseph M. Glitzner and a step-son, Christopher T. Rollison. He was educated at St. Joan of Arc and St. Anne's Academy and graduated from New York State Maritime College. He spent two years in the Merchant Marines as a Third Class Engineer before moving to Washington, DC and accepting a job as a mechanical engineer with the Department of the Navy. During his 30 years with the Navy he received many outstanding performance awards, letters of appreciation and the Meritorius Civilian Service Award for exceptional contributions. While at the Department of the Navy Jack served as Program Manager for the first SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) ship built known as the KAIMALINO which means calm seas in Hawaiian where the ship was built. Jack spent over two years traveling every other week to and from Hawaii. He later served as the Project Engineer and Financial Manager while building the only STEALTH ship for the Navy known as the SEA SHADOW.

After medical retirement from the Navy Department and a third heart bypass operation (1981, 1987 & 2000) he worked parttime at several companies in the Washington Metro area.

He held Redskin season tickets for 50 years, loved traveling, fishing and boating. He had a passion for US History. He was a politically conservative man of great faith.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Stella Ahalt Rollison Glitzner, five children from a previous marriage and nine grandchildren.
