Rene's obituary:
Lorraine Landry Hulme
CROWLEY, LA – Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Lorraine Landry Hulme, 73, who died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Brother Lloyd Singley will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family request visiting hours are observed Sunday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include one son, Clifford Hulme of Tacoma, Washington; one daughter, Sandra Provenzano of Pasadena, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Cormier and Annette Welch, both of Crowley and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Hulme is preceded in death by her husband, Mansford "Tex" Hulme; one son, David Allen Hulme; her parents, Valery and Azlee Landry; four brothers, Lou, Tolson and James Landry and Andrew Trahan; two sisters, Lavenia and Irene Landry. She was a member of Northside Assembly Church.

Rene was the kindest woman I have ever met. She and Unca Tex were like parents to me. She was a wonderful wife - married at only 16 - and stepmother to Tex's two boys and girl, raising them as if they were her own. She was a born again Christian with a strong faith. She never had a child of her own, but four adopted children loved her very much; I say four because I considered myself one of hers. She hosted me on a trip to California in 1977.

She wrote this to me: 'Lord through this hour, be our guide, so by thy power, no foot shall slide.'

I will never forget her. Tex and Rene, together again, and resting in the arms of Jesus. I loved you, Rene. Farewell.
