He was born in Wild Cherry to Zach and Artie Watts. They moved to Taft, Calif., when he was a young boy and [he] graduated from Taft High School while he apprenticed as a meat cutter at Hall's Market. Jane and Jim traveled with Roe during his Army Pilot training. He received his wings just before World War II ended.
He continued in the meat business, running his shops in Taft and in Bakersfield. In1959 he moved his family to Roseville, Calif., where he worked for Quality Market and retired from Safeway. Roe was an avid fisherman and a Mason.
His family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind one of five brothers, Quentin Watts; a daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; six grandchildren; and two great-grand-daughters; many nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
